Free True-Life Storytelling Workshop

Storytelling Workshop
Friday, October 7th
Doors 5:00pm
Workshop: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

In this relaxed, supportive and friendly workshop we will give you some top tips to get you started on telling true-life stories. During the hour-long workshop we will cover:

- the reasons why we tell stories
- generic structure
- compelling beginnings and endings
- memory tricks
- bringing a story to life
- voice, gaze and gesture
- anything else of interest we can squeeze in (bring your questions!)

Everyone is welcome regardless of your experience or interests. You might be a listener just wanting to find out more about storytelling, you might aspire to tell a story to your children or grandchildren one day, you might have a presentation at work coming up, or you might be planning to tell a story at Natural Born Storytellers later in the evening or in the future. We look forward to seeing you all!

Whether you have a story in mind that you would like to craft or polish, or if you just want to check out some tips for the future, there will be something for you to take away.

There is no expectation of performance although there will be discussions and activities to get your creativity flowing.

As we have a lot to cover in a short time, please arrive before 5.30pm (in time to grab a coffee or something to eat from the great cafe) so we can get started on time.
