We are making big moves…
XCHC is changing and we want you involved. Yes, you.
The current directors, Preston and Ben, are stepping down entirely at the end of July. A new group is forming to guide the next direction. You could be a part of that group.
There's currently 3 different ways to put your name down to be involved. Events, Volunteering/Working, and Projects. There is more info below and a form for each of these in the comments.
We are a group of 15 members of the community who started to meet a month ago. When we realised that there was a likelihood that the doors would close forever we spoke up about a desire to keep XCHC an asset for the community. If you feel the same, come make your voice heard.
We’re individuals who have offered some time to take XCHC forward instead of seeing the doors close forever. We welcome you to join us.
Add your voice to the conversation. Then let’s work together to bring our co-created dream to life.
If you'd like to work on the events team in any capacity, reach out. If you want to book a gig, plan a party, or organise a chill community event please reach out.
If you'd like to offer your time and skills as a volunteer or for paid work- we want to hear from you! We are building the new core team and we're also trying to understand who has a bit of time they could give. Any skills welcome whether you’re a bar duty manager, sound and lighting technician, event coordinator, barista, tradesperson, or administrator. If you’ve been giving your time and energy to XCHC recently or over the past years and want to continue, we appreciate you taking time to send us your info here so the new team can be in touch!
Do you have an idea for a project using the resources of XCHC or to improve how we do things? Great! Let's hear it. Do you have a huge dream for an entirely new programme, residency, or significantly different thing that XCHC could do? This is the place to share your thoughts.

Also, come to our event this Saturday
meet the new team & have a boogie with us!
Come and share some kai, meet the new team, and get down to some fresh tasty beats.
FOOD
Bring a dish, a jar of your favourite pickles, or buy a slice of pizza from the bar. Let’s eat together. Food is one of the most vital spiritual and social technologies. We intend to break bread regularly as we nourish the community connections that sustain this ol’ pickle factory.
CHATS
Maybe you want to volunteer occasionally, take a seat on the board, define a new part time role for yourself, or run a series of epic events here? Or maybe you simply love this place and want to know what’s going on? This is a chance to meet the people joining forces to carry XCHC forward and have a chat to see if you’d like to be involved.
MUSIC
After we wrap up kai and chats you’ll be treated to some bangers to get you moving. Lineup TBC.

A clubhouse and lab for creatives
We facilitate a space & collaborative opportunities for creatives to develop their ideas, skills, networks, and brands.
Our organization was founded on the basis of providing affordable space to produce, showcase, and share creative work alongside other creatives & entrepreneurs. What we learned over the course of 10 years was that the need for a 3rd space was invaluable to creative development; i.e. it’s not just about creative events and when the artists are on stage, but it’s the time in between, where their mental, social, and creative health is cared for and their wider needs are considered.
MEMBERSHIP
24/7 access to a private bar & lounge with shared facilities & resources for members.
NETWORK
Access to like-minded creatives to connect with and share knowledge & resources
EVENTS
Audio/visual workshops, music, networking, exhibitions, nightlife etc.
PROMOTION
We advertise the activities of the members and showcase their work.
Showcase Events
We’ve hosted over 1,200 creative, cultural & social events.
