Finding your Fight: Reflection of the American Transition 2017

Finding your Fight: Reflection of the American Transition 2017
Host: Billy O'Steen
Date: May 31st
Time: 7:00pm
Entry: Free // Cash Bar until 10pm

During the first two months of 2017 amidst the transition from President Obama to Trump, Dr. Billy Osteen, University of Canterbury Associate Professor of Community Engagement, traveled extensively in the United States to meet with a range of activists – a civil rights leader, educators, an elite athlete, non-profit administrators, a politician, students, and volunteers – to find out what prepared them to fight for their beliefs.

This interactive evening will invite you to learn from their insights, clarify what you’re fighting for, and consider how to be more effective at it. This is critical in an increasingly disrupted world where we don’t always get to choose our fights.
