Adobe Lightroom Course


Adobe Lightroom has become the industry standard photo editing software that focuses on image management and editing. It will save you hordes of time compared to editing images individually in Photoshop, as it allows you to organise your photography into a meaningful workflow and develop RAW files for maximum impact. 

This course will cover the basics of each module in Lightroom – Library, Develop, Book, Slideshow, Print and Web. However will focus more closely on the two most important – Library and Develop. You will learn the workflow from importing images from your computer to exporting the finished result. It will also look at ways to create a workflow system that works best for you, how to keep your images safe from data loss and look at backup strategies in the digital age. 

Course will cover: 
- Importing your images into Lightroom
- Understand the Lightroom interface and work flow
- Organise your folders and images and use searchable keywords
- Learn how to crop, resize images and adjust resolution
- Understand the differences between file formats, image resolution and quality
- Apply adjustments to multiple images
- White balance and exposure
- Colour and Black & White
- Re-touch and healing tools, basic portrait retouching in Lightroom
- Lightroom image presets
- Understand Non-destructive editing and its features
- Exporting your processed images
- Switch between Lightroom and Photoshop to edit

You will need to bring a laptop (or take notes) with the Adobe Lightroom software loaded onto your computer prior to the workshop, a free 30 day trial is available and can be downloaded from the Adobe website.

About the tutor: Erin Lee is an editorial and documentary photographer originally from New Zealand who has recently returned home after working as a freelance correspondent based in Mexico City for the past 5 years. 

Throughout her career Erin has always been involved in various aspects of photographic education, including running free workshops for children to tutoring in universities and photography schools in Mexico. 

She is a frequent contributor to Vice Magazine and has also published with outlets such as Time Inc., CNN, The Guardian, Financial Times; among others.

Her work has been exhibited in New York, Australia, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal and Japan, and published within North & South America, Europe and Oceania. Erin has been selected for artists residencies in Venezuela, France and Algeria.
