XCHC Cafe is seeking a Chef Assistant. The small open plan cafe is run by a three person team who together meet, greet, serve all customers while preparing food and drinks. The menu changes daily and is made with locally sourced seasonally fresh produce. The Assistant Chef will support the Chef with all food preparation for the cafe and event catering.
This is an ideal position for a Chef that:
- is personable and enjoys sharing what they make with their customers
- is passionate about developing their skills and experimenting with new recipes
- is keen to source fresh ingredients and get to know local suppliers
- is passionate about preparing healthy affordable food with local produce
- is open to learning from an experienced chef at the same time is confident to work independently
- is available to work immediately

XCHC has an event venue that hosts a range of creative gatherings including film screenings, discussions, performances, exhibitions and music.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
XCHC Cafe opened October 2015 and is a unique concept where the chefs prepare and serve all food to customers.
XCHC Cafe is open Monday - Friday 7:30-3:00pm and for events in the evenings 2-3 times a week.
XCHC Cafe is a three person operation with a Chef, Assistant Chef and Barista preparing and serving all food and drink. Bar nights are supported by additional attendants.
XCHC Cafe serves approximately 35 lunches a day and prepares catering for 2-3 events a week, with approximately 30-100 people per event.
Patrons include, foodies interested in healthy exceptional cuisine, creative practitioners, event's guests, and local businesses.
